Euclid Documenters: Public Meeting Summary
Euclid Hope Task Force Partner Meeting
Tuesday, February 17, 4:00 p.m.
Hope Task Force meets every other month with key community partners who are committed to helping us implement our resident-led vision for a safe community.
Partners at the Feb 17 meeting were: Euclid Schools, Euclid Library, Moore Counseling & Mediation, Cuyahoga County Board of Health, and Euclid Hunger Center.
Here are some quick highlights, based on the areas of focus established by residents:
* Youth Safety & Well-being: The Euclid Public Library is part of a mini-committee to discuss new approaches to any behavior issues when the library re-opens. The library is starting to plan Fall Programming — they invited Hope Task Force for neighbor nights and fireside chats. Euclid City Schools shared that a Project Aware grant is funding substance use and mental health support, with successful follow-up case management is key in building relationships with students that impact choices & well being.
* Trauma & the Cycle of Violence: The County Board of Health is preparing to launch their Violence Data Dashboard soon which is a crucial tool for communities. Moore Counseling & Mediation restarted its successful Empowerment Prevention Program (Saturday School) and is seeing positive results, with no re-offenders this year! They are also hosting an Expungement Clinic Friday, Feb. 20.
* Community Connectedness & Basic Needs: The Euclid Hunger Center is continuing its ID and Birth Certificate Program to help neighbors secure essential documents. This is available any time the center is open — Weds and Saturday, every week 11-1.
* The Library is now training staff to help people fill out forms for public benefits through a partnership with Jobs and Family Services. Plus.
